Expertise and language auditing

In the field of language auditing, for French as a foreign language and foreign languages taught in France, it is CIEP's mission to encourage plurilingualism and to support French language teaching.

Foreign languages in France

The activities of CIEP in the field of foreign languages taught in France are organised in accordance with the priorities of the French educational system and the inclusion of foreign languages in a broader European and global context.
At the request of the French Ministry for Education, CIEP has created and is promoting two websites:
  • Primlangues, a website to assist language teaching at primary school level,
  • Emilangues, a website that supports the development of European and oriental language sections.

To contribute to the development of a European dimension in language teaching and in partnership with other European organisations such as CILT or the Instituto Cervantes, CIEP responds to invitations to tender.

French language teaching

In the field of French language teaching, CIEP acts as a support framework and point of reference for teachers of French as a foreign language, French as a second language and teachers using French as a general teaching language.

CIEP is also responsible for putting into operation a project to classify centres that teach French as a foreign language in France on behalf of three different Ministries (Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture.

Evaluation and Certification
