Applicants to Sciences Po Paris

If you want to submit an application for the international admission procedure for Sciences Po Paris, it is compulsory to have a certificate of recognition of your level in French, therefore the TCF is strongly recommended. You must take all of the examinations:

  • Compulsory examinations > listening comprehension
                                                 language structures
                                              reading comprehension
  • Optional examinations > spoken expression
                                            written expression

If you wish to apply for the 2007 academic year, you should contact your nearest approved TCF test centre as soon as possible. You should arrange to take the test before June 2007. This means that if your results are not good enough, you will be able to take the TCF examinations again (not forgetting that there must be a gap of 2 months between examination sessions).

The date on which the centre chooses to hold the test must be one of the last 10 days of the month.

Please note:

As soon as you have registered for a TCF examination session, it is essential that you send email notification of this fact to this address:

The following information must be included in the email:

  • your surname
  • your first name
  • the date of your TCF examination session
  • the country in which you are taking the TCF
  • the town or city in which you are taking the TCF

This information is very important as it will allow the CIEP to inform Sciences Po Paris of your results directly, and as quickly as possible. You must, therefore, follow this procedure in order to be able to register.
