Where? When? How do I register? How much does it cost?

Please note: You can take the TCF as many times as you want, as long as you leave a gap of 60 days between examination sessions.

Where?

Only test centres approved by the CIEP are authorised to hold TCF examination sessions. You can take the TCF examinations in France or abroad. We recommend that you take the TCF examinations at your nearest approved centre. It is up to you to contact the approved centre directly to obtain information on:

  • the day of the test in the week indicated in the schedule, or in some cases the other test days in the month;
  • the information required for registration;
  • the fees for the compulsory and supplementary examinations.

A list of all the approved TCF test centres throughout the world is available at: www2.ciep.fr/tcf/Centres/Liste.aspx

The CIEP, in cooperation with the French language and civilisation course at the Sorbonne, holds monthly examination sessions in Paris. If you would like to attend one of these examination sessions, click on this link: www.ccfs-sorbonne.fr/tcf

When?

We advise you to contact your nearest approved centre to find out the scheduled dates for examination sessions. We would remind you that TCF test centres do not all have the same number of annual examination sessions. It is therefore important to be prepared with regard to registration.

How do I register?

Approved TCF test centres can give you information on registration procedures. How much does it cost? Approved TCF test centres can give you information on the fees for the compulsory and optional examinations.
