The CIEP, a forum for information and ideas

The resource and information engineering centre

CIEP has a multilingual document collection, comprising 10,000 works on education policy and lan-guage teaching. With its historic collection of works on French as a foreign language, it is recognised as the ben-chmark library in the field.

As part of its production and dissemination policy, it provides online access to its documents and publications, bibliographies and thematic sitographies, catalogues, document files and electronic information digests.

It maintains a close watch over education issues and is a resource centre in the field. It responds to invitations to tender and provides a suite of information engineering services, runs training programmes, compiles referen-ces lists and assists in the establishment of document networks.

The Revue internationale d’éducation de Sèvres

CIEP publishes three issues per year of the Revue internationale d’éducation de Sèvres. As a forum for debate, analysis and information on important education issues, seen from an international perspective, the review invites French and foreign experts to reflect on and compare their education systems.

Each issue is based on a theme, and presents education systems and ongoing reforms, selective bibliographies and online resources.

CIEP’s assessment activities draw on studies published in the review. The variety of geographical contexts and the multiplicity of disciplines covered make the review a unique forum for education policy thinking in French.

The organisation also runs an international conference every four years, bringing together experts and contributors to the review, from around thirty countries.
