Applications for recognition
What documents do I need to send in order to obtain a certificate of equivalence recognising my foreign qualification in France?
In France, the legal principle of equivalence does not exist. You can obtain a certificate of equivalence for a foreign degree. This is a document evaluating the relevant qualification in comparison with the French system and which can be submitted to an employer, an administration organising an admission competition or a training institution in order to assist you in your application procedures.
A list of the documents you need to send when applying for recognition of your study level is available.
Where do I send my application for recognition?
You should send your application to us at the following address:

Obtaining a diploma supplement (DS)
You should contact your university, which can provide you with this document free of charge. It cannot be obtained retrospectively. It is a personal document that provides information on the course taken in the training institution. Diploma supplements are only available for higher education in universities. The DS was introduced following the reform of the higher education system with the Bologna Process.
For more information, please see the description of the DS on the Europa website of the European Commission, which created it.
