Do I have to be a student at a French language centre to take the DILF? [Answer]
No, anybody who has a basic level of competency in French and who wants their French skills to be recognised can take the DILF, and there are no prior conditions.
Can I take the DILF more than once? [Answer]
Yes, candidates can take examinations as many times as necessary, until they pass. However, they cannot take the examinations for a diploma that they already hold, unless they revoke the existing diploma in writing before the examination session. If a candidate does not pass the diploma on the second attempt, the first diploma will remain invalid.
Can the examination results be challenged? [Answer]
No, the decisions of the DILF national board of examiners are final. If you want to see your examination paper, you can apply in writing to the chair of the Commission Nationale: Président de la Commission Nationale du DILF, Centre International d’Etudes Pédagogiques, 1, Avenue Léon-Journaut, 92318 Sèvres Cedex, France.
Is the DILF valid everywhere? [Answer]
Yes, DILF receives the recognition enjoyed by all official qualifications awarded by the French Ministry of Education.
Is the DILF valid for life? [Answer]
Is it possible to register online? [Answer]
No. Candidates must register with the test centres.
Is it possible to register via the CIEP? [Answer]
No, only test centres are authorised to register candidates. The CIEP is not a test centre.
How can I prepare for the DILF?[Answer]
Chapter 3 of the reference book Niveau A1.1 pour le français : Référentiel et certification (DILF) pour les premiers acquis en français, published by Editions Didier, includes:

- Examples of listening and reading comprehension and of spoken and written expression questions.
