Correspondence between the old (before september 2005) and new DELF-DALF (as from September 2005)

• All diplomas awarded before 1 September 2005 remain valid..
  Candidates awarded their diploma under the old system (DELF level 1, DELF level 2, DALF) will not receive new certificates.

• Convertible units earned under the old system remain valid and can be used to obtain the equivalent diploma under the new system.

• If a candidate has passed examinations at a number of levels, the equivalent qualification will only be awarded for the highest-level diploma qualification. Requests must be sent to the examination centre within 2 years, starting from 1 September 2005.

• If you have convertible units but do not hold the DELF level 1, DELF level 2 or DALF diploma, calculate your entitlement.
