This seminar, organized by the World Bank, in partnership with UNESCO, OECD and CIEP, was intended to leverage the variety of international experiences with quality assurance to help inform policy makers and practitioners about options. The goal of the seminar was to begin moving toward a collection of general principles of good practice, as well as to set a research agenda to better understand what makes for effective quality assurance in developing countries.
The World Bank, UNESCO and the OECD have explored the topic of quality assurance in many different countries and have invested in capacity building activities worldwide. CIEP has contributed to the development of quality assurance in a number of countries around Mediterranean, particularly through European Union programs.
