What to complete before leaving your country
See the Guidelines for language assistants in France.
Once your educational authority has confirmed your appointment:
- If you come from a country outside the European Union, you must apply for a VLS/TS long séjour (long stay) visa from the French consulate in your country (list of addresses). The application form for this visa is called "visa de long séjour - demande d'attestation OFII" and should be downloaded from the OFII (Office Français de l'Immigration et de l'Integration) website.
The consulate will review the OFII form and issue the VLS/TS long séjour visa.
Please Note! You must ensure that you carry the original version of this document when entering France

If you come from a European Union or European Economic Area country, you must carry valid proof of identity or a current passport.
All assistants must:
- Confirm their acceptance of the position offered to them (see regulations stated by your educational authority).
- Make contact with the main school in which they will be working.
