Le CIEPAbout CIEP

Founded in 1945 and a national public establishment since 1987, the CIEP is renown in France and abroad for its competencies in the field of expertise, training and evaluation, and for its reflection in the field of international cooperation in education.

A public establishment of the Ministry of Education, in close cooperation with numerous partners: both French public and private organisations, as well as sponsors.

Two main missions: To promote French expertise abroad, making France a more attractive option, and to internationalise its education system.

Two principal fields of activity: Education (general, professional and higher) and languages (French and foreign languages, certifications and evaluation).

In running its activities, the CIEP relies on a network of experts and national and international partners, as well as a highly-skilled team of 240 people.

To support its activities, the CIEP relies on a number of information and discussion resources: a unit for hosting foreign delegations, a documentary resource centre and a review called the Revue internationale d’éducation de Sèvres.

As a venue for international seminars, the CIEP hosts and organises symposiums and conferences on current issues in education.
Located in the former Royal Porcelain Works in Sèvres, the CIEP offers modern, high-quality facilities and accommodation.
It has a CIEP regional centre in Réunion.
